3. The infinite exp code was working for me on the v1.1 I switched to the squirrels version so that the wild Pokemon modifier would work but now the infinite exp doesn’t work for me. The wild Pokemon modifier does work tho. I’m not doing anything different than I was on the other versions so can anyone test this on the squirrels version??

   • Basically, you need to add + between each line of the code. However. I can’t recommend OpenEmu for cheating, try mGBA for Mac.

18. So the code for all TMs or HMs, I was able to buy the HM01 -Cut at the mart after I put in the code; it said pokeball but when I read the description; it was the HM01- cut description, so i bought it but now it won’t show up in my BAG at all. Did i do something wrong?

    • Hi Sammy, you can easily identify if the code works for you even before buying the item in PokeMart by checking its summary. It shows up as Pokeball but the summary will show the description of the item of your choice and in your case HM01-Cut.

    i watched the pokemon legendary video in action so i figured out that it maybe needed to be in the same code so i tried that aswell it keep saying that it was not a valid code

    • Hey there Hallow, The legendary Pokemon cheat code supplied on this page are all that you need. I suspect it’s the version of your FireRed rom causing the issue. You need a V1.0 or the Squirrels version for it to work.

    • For MyBoy full version on Android you must activate Master codes 1 AND 2. Even though it states you only need the 2nd for GBA4iOS, activating both is what works for my MyBoy on Android.

    • If you’re using GBA4iOS, chances are some cheats might not work such as the pokemon encounter. With regards to Master codes, these are entered as a separate cheat.

I also used the shiny cheat to get my starter charmander shiny as well as beldum. Although I have beaten the brock my charmander and beldum wont obey. And there only level 12, larvitar does obey and is the same level. Is there a way to fix this?

30. I really like your website. Lots of fun codes to play around with. Check this tho… Trying to get shiny Ho-Oh with docile nature. The nature code works, but once I put the shiny and Ho-Oh codes in, all I get is naive. If its not too much trouble, could u let me know if u get the same thing please? Also, I’ve noticed that when I catch it, I have to turn the cheats off or else the Pokemon disappears. Like I never caught it. That’s a bit weird, but I made it work. Thanks for your time.

    • Hey there Sammy, you can’t pair the shiny code with nature cheat. The only technique you can do if you want to have a shiny Pokemon with your desired nature is doing a restart while leaving the shiny code on. The shiny cheat is buggy and the same with the other cheats, so be sure to save your progress before enabling them. Hope this helps.

    • I’m gonna play FireRed for the first time right now so, for me : try make count as 00 (zero zero) before you toss the item, at least quick save on emulator before doing it. if your item count as ?46 that means the item will be forever in your PC, which means its infinite amount item stacks and you can’t dump that item.

    • To activate the wild pokemon modifier cheat you need a master code, the code is provided already but here’s a video guide if you want to see how to enable it. Btw, I suggest using My Boy as this emulator works well for cheats most of the time. On the other hand, My Boy is the best GBA emulator for Android.

        • Try turning off all other cheats except for the catch/steal pokemon cheat. If it didn’t help, maybe your rom version isn’t compatible with the cheat, it is working well on V1.0 rom or the FireRed Squirrels version.

      • The pokemon level modifier is broken. I have disabled the cheat and the wild pokemon are still level 100. I have made a new profile and nothing has changed. My game is now 100% not playable because of your cheats. I have also checked for bad eggs and there are none. I’m using mGBA for my laptop and the game I’m using is pokemon firered 1.0. I hope you know a way to undo the cheat.

        • I’m not really sure what’s the cause of your problem but I guess you have the older version of mGBA? Before posting this response I made a test myself and it works smoothly. Merely unchecking the cheat in the cheat list will instantly disable the effect. My version is mGBA 0.7.3 what’s yours?

49. So, just one to tell you guys. Some of you might not be able to access a few codes right. Well me too. Some codes worked, but some doesn’t, especially the pokemon modifier. My first rom patch was fire red (U). So the pokemon modifier does not work, then I download another rom which was fire red (USA), and it actually works.

Should I try a different gba emulator? or is there a way to get OpenEmu to use a different gba emulator (if that’s the problem)?

    • Hi there J, OpenEmu may be using mGBA, but it lacks support to cheats. I suggest switching and directly using mGBA as alternative.

56. Anyone know the codes for me to Spawn the Silph Scope and or The Sapphire for the post game mission in my Key items?

    Im sure someone with a fair bit of knowledge of emulators, Pokemon, and cheating in them can read my intial question and confirm I have very little knowledge of the whole emulator scene, so little knowledge that i didnt even know what a soft lock was till it was too late. I was able to figure out what caused my soft lock about an hour after i soft locked my game. As soon as i had a hint that i may have broken the game just right to not cause a crash or deletion i searched the net and only just discovered the term “Soft lock”.
    I know how i locked my game now, but if anyone wants take a guess feel free i wanna see if one of you vets out there know what i did just by that first question. Also any funny soft lock stories are welcomed!

I’ve been having problems getting any cheats to work first I as using mGBA with fire red 1.0 and 8 hrs of plug and play no luck. Just Downloaded VBA v1.86 gonna try it but just before I do is there a newer version of VBA or 1.86 will be fine? Also had a question on the input of codes. Does the master code always have to be active or enabled for ALL other codes to work? it’s kinda confusing too like for example lets say I wanted to do Wild encounter modifier

    Master code 1; I’m assuming that the 2 lines of code are 1 whole cheat entry, or are there 2 different cheat entries “000014D1 000A” being the first “1003DAE6 0007” being the 2nd?

    When I put my cheat in it looked like this.

    83007CEE 0019 } and my encounter code I put into 1 cheat as well

Regarding the mastercodes, some cheats require master codes have activated while some do not. Enter the master code first as a separate cheat and next the code for infinite exp cheat as separate cheat as well. Hope this helps and feel free to reply if you need more help.

So far, I like this GBA emulator but the only problem I’m having is that the main cheat automatically joins the mastercode but at least the cheat works. See screenshots below. For your issue, I might say it is the FireRed rom version you have, cuz cheats works best only for v1.0.

          • I’m really sorry for being late but I’m not sure what else to do. I even made an account on here just to ask. What did you do after you got the pokemon you wanted? What I mean is, what would you do if you wanted another pokemon? I tried to delete it, make a new one, and load save file, but it’s just the normal pokemon. I have mGBA as well. Will really appreciate a response but I understand if you don’t.

            It looks like mGBA has issues with cheats. Try this, deactivate the cheat, save the game (Use the select for saving) and restart(not reset). After the restart, normal Pokemon shows up in the wild, this time you can now add a new wild pokemon cheat.

62. Pokemon coders

    I tried using the infinite money cheat. I could not get it to work. When it finally looked like it kinda worked out turned one of my Pokemon into a bad egg. I didn’t use a Pokemon modifier or any cheat other than the master ball cheat to catch it. I reset the game and it’s still an egg. Any ideas? Also my computer storage is full from the cheats. Do you know a way to clear that out. The cheat seems to keep functioning even though I turned it off

    • Hey there, sorry but there’s no way to get rid of that bad egg and no way to turn it back to a normal Pokemon once you saved your progress. But you can transfer it to your Box. May I know which GBA emulator you are using to play FireRed?

    • The easiest way to fix the problem is by disabling the cheat before throwing a Pokeball and this works in many cases.

64. Yo Pokémon coders! So I realized that many people have issues with the money code. Reason for this is that you must save the master Code as action replay code. Then input the following code in code breaker format. I know it says in the master Code to save as Code breaker but it’s not the right format.

    • Is the Pokemon you tried to use a gen 1 pokemon? If not, you likely need the national Dex before you can evolve it. I tried to use a Beldum on playthrough, but he can’t evolve because of this. However, a pokemon like Gastly evves perfectly normally.

My problem was I couldn’t get the Wild Pokémon cheat to work for Emerald and this game but this time I actually got it to work for fire red but when I throw a master ball to catch the Pokémon the screen goes black and there’s bad static noise.     • Hey Joe, yeah the reason that this might be happening could be in the emulator you might be using. Also the enabling of multiple codes at the same time. Make sure you disable them before enabling the Pokémon modifier code as it uses more than one script of code per line. All in all if the problem still persists simply delete the code and reapply it after you restart your game this could fix your problem.

      • Hey Pokémoncoder, appreciate sharing the info with everyone there’s another thing people should know for the modifier Code. This works for every emulator I tested them out these past two days, once you actívate the Code and encounter the Pokémon you’re looking for deactivate the code so that you can capture the Pokémon successfully without running into the black screen problem and the freezing. Afterwards just reactivate and edit the encounter code all over again.

          • Hi there pal, the only way to change the nature and gender of a shiny Pokemon is to restart the game. I’m not quite sure about the outsider thing and just want you to know that there are Pokemon that naturally won’t obey, not to mention mew.

73. Here’s a cool trick to increase your pokemon’s level even faster using the Infinite EXP cheat.
    Start the battle with the pokemon who’s level you want to increase. Before attacking, switch it out for another pokemon and finish the battle with the new pokemon, then use the EXP cheat as directed. Both will receive EXP, but the pokemon you had to start the battle gets the EXP first AND you don’t have to watch the EXP bar move at all because it isn’t on screen. The pokemon’s level will increase instantly!

74. What to do about the bad egg which appears in my bag out of nowhere. I’m unable to remove it and whenever i save it in the pokemon inventory and save and close. The last pokemon in my bag becomes the bad egg. What should i do about it?

    • Turn off all enabled cheats and restart your game. I’m sorry, but there’s no way to get rid of those bad eggs. Next time, be extra careful when using cheats as it can result in various glitches – try to enable only the one that you need and turn off all other unused codes.

    It did not work but when I put just the second master code, the code for the emulator and put in 0’s enough to match the format in front of the Pokémon number I wanted, it did bring up a ??????? Pokémon.

    • I currenly ran into this error not too long ago for safe keeping simply delete the Code restart the game if it hasn’t been corrupted and go from there. Recommended you create a save point of origin before continuing that way if your game is corrupted you can restore it using the save state from the menu. Hope this helps!

      • GBA4IOS V2.1 Version works with all the cheats best however some cheats enabled simultaneously will cause glitches in your game, so use them responsibly. Also, I have discovered that pokemon modifier cheat to encounter them in the wild will sometimes cause a glitch that will One hit KO your pokemon. To fix this glitch disable the cheat code go to any pokemon center to restore pokemon to full health and then battle from there onwards the glitch should go away on its own. And also create a save data file while saving your original game in case the game becomes corrupt for whatever reason you can restore it with the backup data you created.

          • @PokemonCoders, Hey there yes I have tried them on other multiple GBA4IOS versions, but the V2.1 works the best. Others are not too bad either, as you stated on previous comments before the squirrel’s version of Fire red and US version work the best for these types of codes to be enabled.

            Also, it definitely depends on the type of emulator you are using, some may be outdated or cannot register the types of codes required to enable them to work mostly it’s the ones that require more than one line of codes. Throughout the repeating and learning process, all other emulators used for GBA4IOS only register the codes for the PC items, masterball, money, and rare candy as they aren’t really complicated codes with more than two lines per script. However, there are a few emulators that do work for specific codes like the pokemon modifier, but it will crash your game more often, and with the V2.1 for GBA4IOS it’s less likely to happen.

            That’s all my input and knowledge to the best of my abilities hopes this helps anyone else out there looking for a solution to any problems you all may be running into! Remember never run more than two cheats at a time or your game is more likely to crash or just freeze on you and always create a save slot for anything you do better safe than sorry!

    • Hey there Pal, disable all other unused cheats except for the Infinite exp code. Also, don’t forget the add the mastercode, this is very important as this cheat requires master code activated to work.

    • Hey Taylor, To answer your question it depends on the version you downloaded for GBA4IOS and the emulator you may be using. For the rare candy, masterball, and the items in pc simply input the code that it asks correctly. I too have a GBA4IOS and it works perfectly fine for me. Make sure you only enable the code you want to use and disable all other codes you may have previously used before as it could result in your game either crashing/freezing.

85. Problems with the shiny code, it works, but it also influences the nature of pokemon that is always “impish” despite I turn it off after the encounter and before catching the pokemon. Also, with the nature code (that works) it does not change. Help.

    • Hey there CiccioPasticcio, thank you for dropping your comment. Regarding the Pokemon nature, you need to restart your game to change it, and this also applies if you want to change the gender of the Pokemon. Sorry but this is the only way to do it.

    • It could be your rom version or the emulator causing the problem. Try searching a FireRed v1.0 rom from Reddit and use My Boy for Android. My Boy works well for many with regards to activating cheats.

        • Hello The Peasan, thanks for dropping here. Sad to say with the FireRed version of V1.1 you have, most likely the cheat will not work. Try to find V1.0 as this version works well with cheats.

    • Hi there Iron. The cerulean cave is located north of Cerulean City, use surf to reach the entrance. But, you have to beat Elite Four and deliver the Ruby and Sapphire gems to Celio to obtain access to the cave.

            If this doesn’t work try restarting your game or switch to another GBA emulator. My Boy works well these cheats.

    • Hey Gavin, I got the answer you’re looking for I too have a GBA4IOS V2.1 and the pokemon modifier works well for me so here is how you use it first you don’t need both master codes to enable and find the pokemon only the 2nd row here is how you will input them:

      2.) 8E883EFF 92E9660D
      3.) B6C5368A 08BE8FF4
      4.) 90B4977C C0151DC2
      Use that master code first, and then enable it after you enabled those. Then you will want to input the code to encounter the pokemon, this is the second step you 83007CEE (XXXX)<— For example Bulbasaur his encounter code (0001) Just replace the X' s with the number next to the pokemon name and run into the wild you will find it for sure. Sometimes your game may crash with this code so always save if you manage to catch the pokemon successfully and continue if the problem persists delete the whole code and do it all over again, time consuming and annoying but well worth the effort my friend happy hunting!

    • Hi, you have to press L+R before throwing a Pokeball, as many said this is to avoid getting bad egg. But if bad egg still appears after pressing L+R, I suggest not using the cheat anymore because most likely your rom version isn’t compatible with the cheat.

     • Sorry for what happened, it looks like it is your emulator or FireRed rom version causing the issue. For best cheating results I recommend using My Boy for Android or VBA for Windows. For GBA4iOS users, I doubt the cheat will work.

104. I use my boy, paid, in Android. The spawn code bricked my Us fire red. Luckily if u save b4 using a new code the old save is safe. The shiny code didn’t work but most of the others do. I also got a glitch so I have 33 shadow Ball tms in my bag even have f I sell them they respawn for limitless cash!!!

     Okay… I know that depending on your player ID, shinies will only be males or females, but…
     I’m trying to get this starter in shiny form and female, but it only apears male, then when I go to the wild pokemon, al shinies are Female!

115. Hi i’m a bit stuck, i’m using mGBA / Fire Red Version 1.0. I would like to start the game with a Shiny Charmander. The cheat worked successfully and i then turned the cheat off straight away i.e. Rival did not get Shiny Squirtle. I have tried this multiple times inc GBA4ios, and when i check my Bag i can’t hold any Poke Balls for some reason. I’ve tried buying them and no luck and right from when Prof Oak first gives you Poke Balls they will not appear in my Bag. Please could you help, all i would like is to play the game legit but with a Shiny Charizard.

         • It seems like you have the V1.1 FireRed rom, am I correct? Cheats works best on V1.0 and not for V1.1 the same thing for Emerald, and LeafGreen.

       • The Shiny Pokemon cheat isnt working.I tried getting my starter pokemon a shiny so I entered the code and it gave me a shiny caterpie? Then when fighting with the rival it says he hasn’t learned any moves yet and that his name is charmander? It was all very confusing to me. So I tested the grass and the opponent was shiny but as soon as i tried to attack the game would restart by itself. Maybe the code has some bugs..

         • Cheating is not fully supported in GBA so it’s more likely you’ll encounter bugs upon using some of the cheats like the Shiny. Btw, the shiny cheat is known for a buggy cheat so I don’t recommend using it over and over. Be sure to turn it off after use.

     I tested the shiny cheat and guess what?
     All the shiniest turned into bad eggs!
     I know it sounds crazy but it’s true.
     Also I used all codes on Pokemon Ultra Violet and the same happened!
     But guess what?
     All of them turned into !!!SHINY LEGENDARIES!!!
     Nice Pretty Nice
     See the thing is I had to walk 10,000 steps to hatch them so that’s annoying but nice:-)

     P.S. all turned bad eggs after I logged in the 2nd time after I caught them.

     • If you’re pretty sure you have v1.0, then the issue must be your emulator. When using cheats, I usually recommend using My Boy. For My Boy free version users, you need to enter each line of codes as a separate cheat check this tutorial I created.

       • When you say separate line, do you mean like both lines in one cheat? Or do you mean one line in one cheat, then the other line in another cheat? I’ve been using My boy the full version on mobile and I’ve uninstalled then reinstalled. I’ve tried this cheat for an hour, it’s not working idk what I’m doing wrong

         • Hi Megan, If you have My Boy full version you don’t have to do the separating thing. Just enter the code as it is as shown in this page. Also, if you have FireRed v1.1 rom, not all of the cheats will work. You need FireRed V1.0 rom for this to fully work. Hope this helps.

136. So I used the rare candy and masterball cheats and they’ve worked, now the last one I want to use is the legendary encounter for Dratini and it’s not working. 137. Bagon and Beldum will not evolve for some reason whatsoever. And there is now way to force an evolution, without inputting the codes for their evolved forms.

     • The Pokemon Lvl modifier cheat does work but may show different results depending on the player’s rom version. Try activating only the lvl modifier cheat and disable all other unused codes and see if the cheat works.

       • I got it to work on myboy, the free version. On the free version you can only enter 1 line of code so what i did was enter the lines of code 1 line at a time. Each line as its own code from top to bottom. I’ve only did it with the code to make all Pokemon shiny so far but it worked just fine. The code is

         CE71B3D3 1F6A85FB
         198DF179 5413C867
         73ECB8A0 BDD8B251
         D5AFFB37 6855972C

         So the first code is 39584B19 D80CC66A then save it and open another new cheat and do CE71B3D3 1F6A85FB then save it and make a new cheat and so on for each line of code.

         • Don’t worry, I’m here and willing to help. First off, The cheats works best for FireRed V1.0 and not for V1.1. If you believe you have V1.0, then I recommend using my favorite GBA emulator which is My Boy for Android.
