This ROM hack has one of the most unique legendary lineups in any Pokemon game I’ve played. Well, technically, you can’t get any legendary here; the rarest Pokemon that you can capture are the Mythical ones from various generations.
Additionally, the creators of Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries threw away the concept of legendaries waiting for you in a cave. Instead, all Mythicals you’ll meet are special encounters that require intricate steps to trigger their events.
This proves just how much the devs want us to explore this beautiful region and really digest the diverse story and side quests they prepared.
There are a total of five Legendary and Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries:
- Zarude
- Zeraora
- Celebi
- Diancie
- Koraidon (Unobtainable)
In this article, I’ll guide you to their locations, how to trigger their events, and how you can capture these ultra-rare Pokemon.

Celebi
Celebi can be encountered in Vilethorn Woods. But you need to do a special action to trigger the event and make it appear.

First, you need the item Seed of Time. You can obtain this item for free from an old woman who sells berries at her shop near Mt. Mirroh.
This area can easily be accessed after beating the Mirroh Base Camp Gym.

Then, you also need the Water of Time. It can be obtained from a female NPC named Greta.
To get to her, you need to surf south of Rivetshore City and go to a narrow split in the water path west.
This leads to a secluded island with her store. The Water of Time is listed for free here. Get it and proceed to Vilethorn Woods.

Once you’re in Vilethorn Woods, look for this spot. It should be pretty easy to find. Plant the seed of time in the middle and water it with the Water of Time.
When it says, “The trees shift,” that means Celebi has spawned.
Find the Nurse Joy and news reporter duo in Vilethorn Woods. From their spot, hop across the small rocks over the water going south.
Keep surfing through the connected water paths, and whenever you need to choose a direction, just follow this sequence:
South, East, South, East, South, East, North.
Once you reach land, keep heading north as far as you can, and you’ll find Celebi.

Zarude
From Pelluca City, head to Ivy River, then enter Ivy Forest. Once you’re inside, take the west path, then the south one.
Now, in that area, keep heading west until you find the first Poke Ball that contains note number 1 from a starving man.

From there, take the east exit, then the north one. Keep going north in that area to find note number 2.
From the note, go as far east as you can, then head down to the south exit.

Keep going downwards and surf to the Poke Ball at the center to find the Purple Scarf key item.

Now you have all three requirements to trigger the Zarude event. Once you surf back, you will encounter Zarude and have the chance to catch it.

Diancie
Go to Galacrest City. Enter the house northwest of the Pokemon Center, the one on the far left. Talk to the lady to start the quest “Precious Pearls.”
Defeat the thief at the back of the house and recover the Pearl Necklace. Bring it back to the woman, then talk to her husband to get a Diamond as your reward.

Next, Ruby. To find it, you need to go to Mt. Ceram Peak. Climb the super long stairs, and at the end of them, to the left, the Ruby.

For the final stone, the Sapphire, you need the Trekking Boots Key Item because this stone can be found at Mt. Mirroh B2F.
After going down to this area, you need to solve an ice skating puzzle to get to the center, where there’s a Poke Ball that contains the Sapphire.

Once you have all three stones, go back to Galacrest City and talk to the Dugtrio that takes you underground. Take the stairs on the right to reach Route 3 Depths.

From here, go north, then east. Jump on the stones on the water that lead north to reach Diancie’s location.
You’ll see three rocks here. Place each stone one by one in the crevice of each, and a cave entrance will open up. Head inside to encounter Diancie.

Zeraora
In order to catch Zeraora, you need to be a member of the Ranger Institute. So go to their building on Route 6, boot up the PC, and get an application form.
Talk with the scientists and finish your interview successfully to become an official member. Then, talk to Ravine on the second floor.

Then, you need to earn your reputation as a Ranger by doing chores. Your first assignment would be to deliver a package to the Ivy River branch.
After delivering the package to the scientist, he will promote you to Candidate and ask you to talk with his 3 subordinates upstairs.

They will ask you to show them 3 different Pokemon. They are:
- Teodscool (Route 6, Use Trolling Rod)
- Orbeetle (Route 4, the evolved form of Blipbug)
- Shiinotic (Vilethorn Woods, the evolved form of Morelull)
After showing each Pokemon to the three scientists, report to the scientist downstairs to complete the mission and be promoted again to Associate.
After that, return to Ravine and get your gift Pokemon. He will then tell you your final mission to become a full-fledged ranger.

So, head into Static Cave. You need the trekking boots here. Upon entering, head west and fall down the cracks.
From there, go south and solve the strength puzzle to be able to go through. Keep heading east and ignore everything else until you have no choice but to go north.
You should find another strength puzzle here. Solve it and go up the stairs. From there, head west until you reach a fork in the road, then choose the north path to find Zeraora.
After you interact with it, it will run away and will become a roaming, Legendary like the three beasts in HGSS.
Some players report that Zeraora isn’t there anymore. That means it’s already roaming and you can find it in the wild.

This is why I suggest you reserve your Master Ball for Zeraora since it’s easily the hardest one to encounter.
Anyway, after your first meeting at the cave, go to Route 4 and Route 5. Alternate between these routes until you encounter Zeraora in tall grass.
Conclusion
Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries goes beyond the traditional Legendary hunt by making each encounter meaningful and story-driven.
Instead of simply finding these powerful Pokemon waiting in caves, you’ll embark on emotional side quests, solve clever puzzles, and explore hidden corners of the Cormoria region to unlock their presence.
Each Mythical Pokemon, from Celebi’s time-bending ritual to Zarude’s spooky forest event, feels like a reward for players who take the time to truly explore.
Even though the game only features four Mythical Pokemon, each one offers a distinct experience that showcases the creativity and passion the developers put into this ROM hack.
