Requirements Before You Can Get Diancie

Diancie in pokemon games

Listed below are the requirements or prerequisites needed before you can even start to catch Diancie:

  • Finish the game first because Diancie can only be obtained post-game.
  • You must have the following HMs or HM replacement items. (Strength, Surf, Cut, Waterfall, and Rock Climb)

Complete the Operation Shutdown Quest

There is a quest for Team Rocket that you have to complete first. You can get this quest in Celadon City by talking to Archer below the Goldenrod Tunnel.

It’s very straightforward and not that hard to do.

Accessing Pinkan Island to Get Diancie

Before we proceed, we have to tell you that Diancie is located in the Pinkan Hollow, which is on Pinkan Island.

In order for you to get to Pinkan Island, you are able to do it by one of two quests. The quest is listed as the same, which is “Pinkan Island!”

You can do either the Team Rocket quest or the Police quest. It all depends on what you’ve been doing in the game prior to this point.

If you decided to join Team Rocket at the Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City early on, then chances are you would do the Team Rocket side quest.

If you’ve been helping the Police, then you can do the Police side of the quest. Regardless of which path, you will get access to Pinkan Island and get Diancie once you finish the quest line.

There are NPCs on each side who can heal you an unlimited number of times.

IMPORTANT:
Before you do any of these quests, it is important to note that you cannot pause this quest. This means that if the quest is active, you cannot leave without resetting the quest all over again.
You’ll also get Pokemon that you don’t own.

All the Pokemon you previously had will not be usable for the duration of this quest. Everything will be returned once the quest is done.
By this point, you can catch Pokemon and raise them. You can only keep the Pokemon that you caught once the quest is over. If you leave the quest, then all Pokemon caught will not be kept.

The Team Rocket Pinkan Island Quest

To start the Team Rocket side, head to the Goldenrod Tunnel. Equip the Team Rocket uniform, or otherwise, they will kick you out.

Talk to Archer to start the quest, and just let the dialogue proceed.

Once you arrive on the island, you will choose from Ekans, Zubat, or Koffing as your Pokemon.

You will encounter Police Trainers as your opponents, but traversing through Pinkan Island isn’t something that’s too hard to do.

The Police Pinkan Island Quest

To start the quest, head to the harbor in Goldenrod City. Just talk to the Policeman, and you can ride the boat to start the journey to Pinkan Island.

Unlike the Team Rocket side, the Police will only give you a Snubbull at level 15.

The progression is almost the same, where you can catch numerous Pokemon. Use the HM replacements you already have, or teach any Pokemon with an HM that they can.

Diancie Encounter in Pinkan Hollow

Regardless of which side, the events that will unfold in the Pinkan Hollow are the same. The event where the Team Rocket members will try to block you out, and Archer will try to catch Diancie.

Diancie will attack all the Team Rocket members and then attack you, which will spark the battle.

Tips for catching Diancie

First of all, catching Diancie doesn’t require you to catch it with a Poke Ball.

Your main focus now is to just knock out Diancie. It sounds easy, but Diancie is a bit of a challenge. It is only level 30, but it’s still no pushover.

Diancie’s moves include Reflect, Guard Split, Ancient Power, and Stealth Rock. If you have Pokemon with Surf, this battle will be much easier.

Diancie is a Rock-type, so Surf can be a good move against it. However, Ancient Power is something that you should watch out for.

After Diancie is defeated, talk to any of the collapsed Team Rocket members inside. After some dialogue, exit the cave.

A Policeman will talk to you, and after the dialogue, Diancie will come out to meet you. It will then be in your possession, and you’re done.

FAQs

Can I get more than one Diancie?

No, you can only get one in the game.

Can I do both Team Rocket and Police quests?

No, only one is doable for each run. If you cannot do one quest, this means that you can do the other. That all depends on what you did early on.

Can I save during this quest?

Yes, as long as you don’t leave the island, you can save, shut off your game, and when you reload, the Pinkan Island quest should still be in effect.

What happens if I die in this quest?

You will simply respawn near where the NPCs near the boat are. You’ll lose the usual things like money, but the quest will not fail. Simply go back to where you want to be. Saving is always ideal, so if you don’t want to lose anything, just reload.

In Closing

We hope this guide on how to get Diancie in Pokemon Infinite Fusion has been very helpful.

At the very least, you shouldn’t worry about not being able to access this quest or getting a Diancie. This is not a missable quest as long as you finish the game first.

The trek on Pinkan Island may be tough, considering that you’re starting from scratch. It takes time, but being able to save and have unlimited heals is a good thing.

You’re basically restarting on something, but you get to keep all the Pokemon you caught after.
