About Pokemon Ambrosia

One of the hottest GBC ROM hacks right now is Pokemon Ambrosia. It is a hack of Pokemon Crystal with a lot of interesting features and challenges.

Featured Videos

Let’s just get right to it as we present a list of Pokemon Ambrosia cheats.

The hack has very few cheats for now, and these were provided by people involved in making the hack.

The game itself has a gimmick of being hard and unforgiving, even with the cheats. For this list, we’ll use GameShark codes.

Pokemon Ambrosia is based on Pokemon Crystal, so we used our list of Pokemon Crystal cheats as the basis of our testing.

Human-Tested Cheats — No Scraped Codes

Codes in our Verified Cheats section for Pokemon Ambrosia are tested by hand on a real emulator before they go live, and most include a screenshot of the cheat working in-game as proof. We do not auto-generate, scrape, or publish unverified codes.

Codes under Community-Shared Cheats come from readers, not our testing. Many have been confirmed working by other readers in the comments, but our team has not hand-tested them yet. We work through this list over time — once a shared code passes our own testing, it moves up to the Verified section with a screenshot.

  • Codes last verified: September 21, 2026
  • Tested by: Jeiboy
  • Tested on:  mGBA (Cheats should also work on many GBA emulators that support GameShark)
  • Version: Pokemon Ambrosia (v2.9.0)

Latest update: Added newly tested Shiny Pokemon Encounter, Item Modifiers and High Battle EXP cheats. Found a code that doesn’t work? Report it in the comments and a real person will re-test it, see how we test cheats.

Verified Pokemon Ambrosia Cheats

Before using any cheats in Pokemon Ambrosia, please keep these important tips in mind to ensure a smooth gaming experience:

  1. Save your game progress before activating any cheats to avoid losing valuable data.
  2. Enable only one cheat at a time. Activating multiple cheats simultaneously can lead to crashes and freezing.
  3. Turn off cheats after use to prevent unintended glitches or errors.
  4. Do not overuse cheats. Cheats alter the game program; when overused, the cheat can ruin your game.
  5. Mixing cheats is not recommended, as this can result in random bugs, including freezing or crashes.

Move Modifier (Shared by Zacky J)

Want a Bulbasaur that drops a Fire Blast? Or a Blastoise that flies and drops Thunder? The possibilities are endless. It takes just a minute to set up, so be patient, take your time, and follow these instructions closely.

⚠️ CRITICAL: Always save your game before activating any codes. While extensive testing has resulted in zero crashes or corruptions, it is always best practice to keep a backup save.

Step 1: Prepare Your Party
Put the Pokémon you want to modify into the Number 1 slot (the very top) of your active party.

Step 2: Set Up the Base Codes
You will need to add 4 separate cheats/hacks into your emulator’s cheat menu. Use the base 8-digit codes below, which target the four move slots of your first Pokémon:

Move 1 Code: 91xxECDC
Move 2 Code: 91xxEDDC
Move 3 Code: 91xxEEDC
Move 4 Code: 91xxEFDC

💡How it works: The xx represents the 3rd and 4th digits of the code. You will replace these two letters with the specific 2-digit hexadecimal ID of the move you want.

Step 3: Replace the “xx” with Your Desired Move
Look at the Master Move List, find your desired move, and grab the 2-digit hexadecimal code listed inside the parentheses ( ). Replace the xx in your emulator codes with those digits.

📝 Example Configuration (Giving Bulbasaur a custom moveset)
If Bulbasaur is in party slot 1, and you toggle these 4 separate cheats:
9101ECDC → Pound (01)
917EEDDC → Fire Blast (7E)
9155EEDC → Thunderbolt (55)
91C1EFDC → Pika Thunder (C1)

Step 4: Apply & Confirm
Turn the codes ON in your emulator.
Open your game menu and inspect your #1 Pokémon to verify its moves have successfully changed to your choices.
IMMEDIATELY TURN THE CHEATS OFF. If you leave them on, any other Pokémon you move into slot 1 will instantly have their moves overwritten.

To modify another Pokémon, simply swap them into the #1 party slot, update the xx values in your codes if desired, and repeat the process!

🌟 Fun Fact: The Power of “Uber” Moves
For those who haven’t reached the end-game yet, Uber type moves are absolute overkill. Here is what you need to know about them:
They ignore standard type matchups completely.

You might think a move like Pika Thunder would be super-effective against a Blastoise or resisted by a Jolteon. That is incorrect. Because it is an Uber-type move, it deals the exact same devastating damage to every single Pokémon regardless of their typing, and it boasts a 100% accuracy rate.
Use them wisely—they are absolutely devastating!

In Closing

That’s all there is for now when it comes to the available Pokemon Ambrosia cheats.

Unfortunately, none of the other cheats are working, such as Pokemon modifier codes, except for the ones listed above. Again, these cheats were are from the people behind the hack.

Maybe in the future, more cheats will be released. We’ll be sure to update this list when that happens. However, if you have your own cheats that work, feel free to hit the comments section.

  1. Also note, my wild Pokémon modifier, Caterpie, metapod and butterfree are not in game. They were replaced with “Venipede,Whiripede, and Scolipede” I used the original pokedex file from the first version. – Same bug style Pokémon from a newer generation. I guess the update swapped them. Otherwise everything else looks good!

Sorry to anyone who seen Butterfree and got excited!

Though, if you’re running an outdated copy you may get a butterfree!

      • I keep trying to share my method of modifying Pokémon moves. Like make any pokemon learn any moves. It looks like its submitting just fine. Have you not gotten it yet? I wonder if its too long? You can email me and I can reply back to it with the data sheet. Ill try a 3rd time as of 7–9-2026 around 1:45pm eastern time

        • Thanks for the heads up and sharing. It seems it ended up in the Spam folder, which explains why. Perhaps its length was the reason. Anyway, I just unspammed it and will publish it. Thanks again, and keep those useful information coming.

    • Hey Zacky J, thanks for sharing the cheats. I tested them and confirmed they all worked. I added the codes under “Community Shared and Verified Cheats” section.

      • Wonderful! Im in works of building a list now, that can modify the 4 moves of the pokemon in slot 1 in your party. Would you like a caterpie that knows fireblast? Because I have one lol. As soon as its ready and polished I’ll post. Its currently in scattered notes

    • Hi there, Julio. Let’s hear feedback from other players with your code.

      – Has anyone tested this cheat for Mewtwo? Did it work for you? Your feedback means a lot to the community.

      • The code is correct. I actually just made a post with all Pokémon encounter codes.

And there are 3 Pokémon in Ambrosia that cant be a 100% catch. Zygarde, Mewtwo, and Arceus are the only 3 Pokémon the creator modified. All balls work the same. Its a 2% chance to catch them each throw. 4% chance if you weaken and apply Sleep. Maybe frozen, paralysis, and others may work?

I just did the 2%. Encountered Mewtwo at lvl 24. Used the master ball cheat. I think on like my 35th throw i got em. Then rare candied him to match my current Pokémon levels.

And of course, Thanks to DrUltimaMan for the wonderful game, info on the catch rate, and providing me hints on how to create a list for every single Pokémon!

      • You can catch it, but it’s hard because of Pokemon. On the game configuration says that on Mewtwo and Arceus Masterball work like PokeBalls…

  2. Probably a dumb question here, but how do I get Arceus (probably spelt wrong) after I caught MewTwo in Hall of Orgins? The door wont open.
