One of the most touching moments in Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries is finding the injured Blastoise being cared for by a family of Dragapult and Dreepy.

Besides being one of the most emotional side quests in the entire game, it also gives you a rare chance to capture one of the Kanto starter trio.

However, helping Blastoise isn’t as simple as tossing a Potion its way. You’ll need the right healing item and later return with a Poke Flute to unlock the chance to catch it.

This guide shows exactly where to find Blastoise, how to help it recover, and how to wake it up for capture.

Where to Find Blastoise in Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries

If you already know where Blastoise is, you can skip this part. If not, you’ll have to fly to Winterlilly Hollow. Then go southeast to the Lily Pond. Surf east, then south, and east again until you see a Dreepy waiting for you.

It will look like it’s trying to guide you to something. So, follow the Pokemon and head northeast into a cave.

Once you’re inside, you’ll find the Blastoise surrounded by Dreepy and Dragapult as it cries in pain. Behind it is another path that leads to a dead end. This is where Blastoise will sleep after it is healed.

If you interact with the Blastoise and its friends, you’ll discover that a regular Potion or even a Super Potion won’t be enough to patch the turtle Pokemon up.

To help the wounded Blastoise, you need a Hyper Potion. You can get Hyper Potions at Poke Marts. The nearest one would be at Winterlily Hollow.

After you get a Hyper Potion, use it on the Blastoise, and its friends will leave happily.

The Blastoise will then go to the back of the cave and sleep. You can use a Poke Flute to wake it up and catch it.

How to Catch Blastoise in Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries

After helping the Blastoise, it will go to the back of the cave and rest up. If you want to battle or catch it, then you need to wake it up using a Poke Flute. Here’s how:

Step 1: Start the “Percy’s Gone Missing” Quest

“percy’s gone missing” quest

After arriving in Rivetshore City, head southwest of the Pokemon Center and enter the Rivetshore Construction building.

Speak with the receptionist, who will mention that the CEO is looking for help with a special job.

Go upstairs and talk to the CEO himself.

He’ll explain that his beloved Pokemon, Percy, has gone missing. Accept his request, and the “Percy’s Gone Missing” quest will begin.

Step 2: Find Percy

Next, go west of the Rivetshore Construction site and enter the rocky terrain filled with wild Aron. Move north until you reach a fork in the path.

  • Take the west route and battle the Trainer with an Avalugg.
  • After the battle, continue north to reach a small infirmary where you can heal your team.

Behind the infirmary, you’ll spot Percy, but when you approach, a wild Mimikyu will appear and attack.

Defeat or capture it to complete the encounter. Afterward, Percy will automatically return to the CEO.

Step 4: Claim Your Reward

Head back to the Rivetshore Construction building and speak with the CEO again. Grateful for your help, he’ll reward you with the Poke Flute.

This key item lets you wake up sleeping Pokemon, including Charizard on Mt. Ceram and Blastoise in Ivy River.

Did you know that there’s also a sleeping Venusaur in the tall grass on Route 6 near the Pokemon Ranger Institute HQ? Yes, you can wake it up with the Poke Flute now and catch it as well.

Step 5: Catch Blastoise

Once you have the Poke Flute, stock up on Ultra Balls, Quick Balls, and healing items before heading to Blastoise’s location.

When you interact with it using the flute, the Pokemon will awaken, ready for you to battle or catch.

If you have a Quick Ball, use it on the first turn for a high chance of capturing Blastoise without even attacking it.
