Have you ever heard of places called Dream Islands in Pokemon Pokopia? In case you just started this game, you must learn everything about the Dream Islands, as these locations will help you build your settlement much faster.
Once you settle into Pokopia’s starting area, the Withered Wasteland, you’ll gain access to a variety of resources you can gather and reuse to build your post-apocalyptic Pokemon community.
The problem is, once your little town has enough population, you’ll eventually find it difficult to get specific items, such as foods and other stuff needed for building other Pokemon habitats.
Fortunately, you have the option to go outside your town—somewhere completely isolated and filled with goodies that will surely solve many of your town’s problems: the Dream Islands!
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to access the first Dream Island, along with the others, so you can plan ahead and make the most of your resources and progression.
Key Highlights:
- To get to the Dream Islands, you need to invite Drifloon to your town by making its favorite habitat.
- Drifloon will give you a quest involving a doll. Find the doll and give it to Drifloon so it can take you to Dream Island.
- Finding other dolls will open access to other Dream Islands, so keep your eyes open for glowing blocks.

How to get to the Dream Islands in Pokopia
To open the option of going to the Dream Islands in Pokopia, you need the help of Drifloon, a Pokemon with a unique transportation specialty.
Your primary goal here is to invite Drifloon to your settlement so you can seek its help when you need it. Follow these steps to get it done:
Step 1: Locate Drifloon
Unlike most Pokemon, Drifloon doesn’t spawn by building its favorite habitat alone. Instead, with the Pokemon Center as your starting point, head to the western beach of the Withered Wasteland.
This beach serves as the border between the Wasteland and old Pallette Town. Not far from the path that leads to Pallette Town is the spot where you’ll find Drifloon.
This Pokemon seemed lost, talking about eerie stuff about humans. It’s worth noting that according to its Pokedex entries, Drifloon is known to steal children, and some of them end up missing forever.
But since you’re just a Ditto, go ahead and talk to Drifloon.
Step 2: Make a Home for Drifloon

To make Drifloon move to your town, you have to set up a riding warm updrafts habitat. All you need are three pieces of campfire plus a Pokemon with a Burn specialty like Charmander.
You can make campfires using the Workbench, and one campfire requires a piece of Sturdy Stick and Stone. Once done, set them up in any preferred location in a line and call your Burn Pokemon to light them up.
Go back to Drifloon once more and talk to it. Drifloon will automatically go and live in your newly built habitat.
Step 3: Find the Doll for Drifloon

Drifloon will mention that since the humans are gone, it will need a doll to get energy from. Each area or biome in Pokopia may contain a doll that Drifloon needs, and these will serve as your tickets to various Dream Islands.
The doll that you need to find in the Withered Wasteland is the one resembling an Eevee. Leave Drifloon for now and go back to the Pokemon Center. From the map’s perspective, look for a glowing block east of the Pokemon Center.
Break that block using Rock Smash to obtain the Doll.
Step 4: Give the Doll to Drifloon

After receiving the doll that you found, Drifloon will invite you to the game’s first accessible Dream Island. Remember that you can only visit one type of Dream Island as many times as you want in a day, so if you accept Drifloon’s invitation, you can trigger its specialty again tomorrow if you want to go to a different island.
Don’t worry, unlike those unfortunate human kids, Drifloon will stay with you on Dream Island and bring you back to your settlement after your excursion.

What to Do in Pokopia’s Dream Islands

The Dream Islands are mysterious places containing massive amounts of resources that you claim and bring to your town. These can range from fruits, earth and building blocks, furniture, and other miscellaneous items needed for creating habitats.
These places can come in handy in case you’re out of food needed to sustain your Ditto’s energy and blocks to build houses and other structures. Dream Island resources reset each day, so you don’t hesitate to take as many as you can.
Dream Islands can also feature event-exclusive items that are available for a limited time, which you can exchange using event items found at the Pokemon Center.
Every Doll’s Location in Pokemon Pokopia
Most dolls in Pokemon Pokopia can allow Drifloon to take you to a different Dream Island. These are the most common locations of two dolls in the game so you can take advantage of the Dream Island mechanics:
| Doll | Fixed Location |
|---|---|
| Eevee Doll | East of Withered Wasteland’s Pokemon Center, inside a glowing block. |
| Pikachu Doll | Inside an abandoned house on an island in the southwest section of Bleak Beach. |
Meanwhile, these dolls can be found in specific areas, but your best bet is to look inside glowing blocks, where they are guaranteed to appear.
- Ditto Doll: Withered Wasteland
- Substitute Doll: Withered Wasteland
- Arcanine Doll: Rocky Ridges
- Dragonite Doll: Sparkling Skylands
- Clefairy Doll: Withered Wasteland
As you see, most dolls are found around the Withered Wasteland, so don’t hesitate to break every glowing block that you find.
Conclusion
With Drifloon at your side, you should have no trouble finding resources anymore. This Pokemon is the only one so far that is capable of transporting you to faraway places, so take advantage of it while you can.
Before visiting a Dream Island, make sure to empty out your inventory first by putting all the things you have in storage so that you can get more items once you’re in the location.
Finding all of the dolls for Drifloon can take some time, but you will eventually obtain all of them if you keep doing other things like expanding your town, creating habitats, and exploring the world around you.
