Enhancement DS ROM hacks are one of my favorites because of their simplicity. They don’t try to do too much or reinvent games that have already proven themselves worthy of our time.
One example of a good enhancement ROM hack is Pokemon JetBlack, which simply took the original first Gen 5 games and applied several improvements, such as better teams for NPC trainers and an extended Pokemon roster.

How does the wild encounter cheat work? Even when entering the ID it does show
Still having issues with the modifier not working, anyone have anything that has gotten it to work?
There’s something off with the Catching Other Trainer’s Pokémon hack. While it does work and does have the side effects mentioned, it didn’t catch the right Pokémon for some reason. I threw it at Bianca’s Oshawott, but somehow caught her Minccino so I would guess it only works on the first Pokémon in a party, but I haven’t tested that theory since I didn’t need to.
Yes TheCat. I tested this cheat again and it only captures the first Pokemon the opposing Trainer sends out.
You might want to clarify that in the description of the cheat then so no one gets confused. Not everyone is going to read the comments afterall.
I found a weird interaction with the walkspeed cheat. I think it deactivates on any sort of slope as long as there’s an elevation change.
I can’t seem to get the encounter one to work properly… or at all to be honest. I was planning on catching shiny versions of the starters to have an interesting run, but I couldn’t get it to work. I did what the instructions said and changed the YYY part of the sequence to match the listings and tested with the shiny cheat on and off. Anything I might be doing wrong or missing?
And on a separate but related note, I noticed that the text describing the cheat implies it can alter your party. Any chance you could see about adding or at least looking into a cheat that’s similar to the one that changes natures, but instead makes it so your Pokémon become shiny? It would be nice to just be able to click a button and make my Snivy shiny rather than catching a different one.
And a third thing, not that important to me personally, but I would like to ask about IV and EV altering cheats as I don’t see any listed, though you do have the previously mentioned nature changing one. Just curious if there’s a reason you didn’t post one or if you didn’t think about it.
I second this. The cheat does not work. I’d say don’t say “we tested all the cheats to make sure they’re working” just for the 3rd cheat down the list to not work lmaoo
