What Is the Safari Zone?

Safari zone entrance

The Safari Zone is a place where players can encounter Pokemon and find items. The gimmick here is that the battles are not the usual ones.

When you enter the Safari Zone, you need to pay 500 Pokemon Dollars. You will be limited to 500 steps when the Safari Zone will end and you’ll be sent back outside.

In terms of battle, you have several commands like Ball (catch Pokemon) and Run Away, which are both self-explanatory.

Go Near is a command where you have an increased catch rate but the Pokemon will have a higher chance of running away.

PokeBlock is a command where you throw a PokeBlock to the Pokemon to increase the catch rate.

Safari Zone Map

The Safari Zone is divided into six areas. The colored stars below are to help you navigate through the areas.

Note: Areas 5 and 6 will only be accessible after you obtain the National Dex or when you beat the game. For the time being, you only get to go through areas 1 to 4.

Legend:

  • White Star: Transition points where you just walk or ride a bike through them to go to the next area.
  • Yellow Star: Starting Point
  • Orange Star: Can only move through it with a bike (it doesn’t matter which).
  • Blue Star: Jump from area 3 to enter area 2, but can’t be accessed from the bottom.
  • Red Star: Use an Acro Bike on the white platforms to enter area 4 from area 1 or vice versa.
