How to Evolve Chingling in Pokemon Legends ZA
You can evolve Chingling at any level as soon as it gets high Friendship during nighttime.
For players who are new to Pokemon games, Friendship serves as a meter of how much your Pokemon has grown close to you. Gameplay-wise, you can increase your Friendship with Chingling by doing any of the following:
- Buying a drink at a café with Chingling as your buddy.
- Leveling up Chingling in battles.
- Sitting on benches for 10 seconds with Chingling on your team.
- Feeding Chingling specific berries in expense of changing its stats (i.e., Kelpsy, Pomeg, Qualot, and Hondew Berries).
- Feeding Chingling vitamins.
- Using Feathers on Chingling.
- Feed Chingling with Exp. candies.
Of all the methods above, the fastest way to gain Friendship is by drinking any beverage at any café in Lumiose City while your Chingling is outside your Pokemon.
To check your Friendship, go to Café Pokemon-Amie (northeast of Wild Zone 7) and talk to the lady in one of the chairs with Roselia. Let her check your Chingling and once she says things like “you really like your Chingling,” “keep it by your side,” or “it’s incredibly friendly toward you,” it means it had enough Friendship to evolve.
All you have to do this time is turn your in-game time into night by killing time on a bench (only if it’s morning) and press X to open your main menu. On the right side of your screen, you should see a yellow arrow sign pointing upward on Chingling’s image, which indicates that you can now evolve it anytime you want.
Chingling’s Location in Pokemon Legends ZA
You can catch lots of Chingling in a Hyperspace Wild Zone containing Psychic-type Pokemon. You have to download the Mega Dimension DLC first before Hyperspace Distortions can appear on your map.
When looking for Chingling, open your map and press the minus button so you can only see the locations of all Hyperspace Distortions. Check for distortions containing Psychic-type Pokemon, and if Chingling isn’t one of the possible Pokemon, just change the day/night cycle until you find one.
Opening Hyperspace Distortions requires feeding Hoopa with donuts made by Ansha. To make it easier for you to find and catch Chingling, use donuts that will allow you to stay longer inside the Hyperspace.

What Is the Best Moveset for Chimecho?
If you’re interested in building a Chimecho for battles, here is a moveset designed to use its stats to the fullest even if it’s in Mega form:
- Psyshock
- Wish
- Dazzling Gleam
- Flash Cannon
Psyshock will be the main STAB move for Chimecho, especially if it’s not in Mega form yet. Remember that Mega Chimecho is a Psychic/Steel type, and its high Special Attack stat (135) will augment the damage done by Flash Cannon. Don’t hesitate to spam Flash Cannon whenever possible.
Wish will give Mega Chimecho some sustain, while Dazzling Gleam is an excellent coverage move that you can use against tough matchups, such as against Dark-type Pokemon.
The ideal held item for your Chimecho in Pokemon Legends ZA would be Leftovers, while the best EV spread is 252 for HP, 252 for Special Attack, and 4 for Defense.
Although Chimecho can’t be considered a meta-friendly Pokemon in Legends ZA, you can use it for specific matchups where it can easily get the upper hand, like the battle against Corbeau and his Poison-type Pokemon.
