Become the ultimate trainer in the Kalos region by using our list of working Pokemon X and Y Cheats!

Featured Videos

Pokemon X and Y is the first Pokemon game introduced for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console. The games feature the sixth generation of Pokemon species that inhabit the star-shaped region of Kalos.

The games’ main theme circles around their two legendary Pokemon, Xerneas and Yveltal, which represent life and death, respectively.

Other notable features that made Pokemon X and Y popular are the addition of the Fairy-type, and the Mega Evolution phenomena.

Whether it’s your first time playing these games or you’re just looking for a different playthrough experience, you can significantly raise your chances of winning battles by using cheat codes.

Since there are only a few sources where you can get these cheats for the 3DS, we decided to help the Pokemon community by sharing our own list of Pokemon X and Y cheats.

Exp. Multiplier

This cheat lets you multiply the Exp. received by your Pokemon by any multiplier that you want.

0053EDA0 E1D002B2
0053EDA4 E92D4002
0053EDA8 E3A01XXX
0053EDAC E0000190
0053EDB0 E8BD8002
00175FB0 EB0F237A

XXX = Hex code equivalent of your desired multiplier.

Use this hex to decimal converter to get the hex code equivalent of your desired multiplier. The XXX should be the last three characters of Hex signed 2’s complement. For example, if you want a x10 Exp. multiplier, the XXX would be 00A.

So, if you want a x10 Exp. cheat, this is how it would look like:

Item Modifier (Only Tested for 1.0 versions of Pokemon X and Y)
Item modifier cheat for pokemon x and y

Apparently, this cheat only works for the 1.0 versions of Pokemon X and Y. If you already updated your ROM, try uninstalling the update first before applying the code.

Master Code:

18C67564 0000XXXX
18C67566 0000YYYY

Change the XXXX to the hex code equivalent of the ID number of your desired item. You only need to copy the last four characters of the hex code. For example, if you want the Master Ball, its hex code is 0x0001, so you only need to copy “0001” and make it as the code’s XXXX.

For the YYYY, you only need to change it to the hex code equivalent of your desired quantity. Let’s say you want 99 Master Balls, then convert 99 to hexadecimal, so the code’s YYYY should be “0063.”

Here’s a list of all items and their hex codes, as well as a decimal to hexadecimal converter to help you out.

Below are some sample codes that you can try from this cheat. Again, it only works for versions 1.0:

99x Rare Candies

18C67566 00000063

Pokemon X and Y hints and guides

Earn Money from Battle Chateau

Money is one of those Pokemon X and Y cheats that people will use right away. Head to the Battle Chateau when you have a high rank.

The trainers there will give out money for as low as 1,000 up to 20,000 but again provided that your rank gets higher.

When you do this, make sure you have the Amulet Coin and Prize Money O Power because they will stack, and you can gain more money after each battle.

Earn Money from Lumiose City

The next way is to head to the restaurants in Lumiose City. You can use low-level Pokemon to challenge the trainers because they will use higher-level Pokemon.

If you succeed in the battles, they will reward you with a ton of money. Don’t forget about the Amulet coin and Prize Money O Power as well.

Earn Money by getting Comet Shard

This one is a one-time trick, and this involves you getting the Comet Shard. Find the Old Man in Anistar City and talk to him.

He will then ask you to borrow one of your Pokemon that is Level 5 or lower. Give him any Pokemon, and he’ll start to talk. Leave and come back after a couple of days.

You’ll find out that the Old Man has passed away, and you will see the Poke Ball where your Level 5 or lower Pokemon is, along with a letter giving you the Comet Shard.

Sell the Comet Shard for a great amount of money.

WiFi Healing

You can heal your Pokemon and restore your PP by WiFi battling. What you do is that you try and find a battle on the internet.

When you find a battle, your Pokemon will be healed. What you need to do next is cancel the battle, and you’ll be sent back to the part where you search an enemy.

It won’t be fun for the opponent that you just abandoned the fight but your Pokemon are healed either way.

Steal Unlimited Heart Scales

You can use Heart Scales in the game to teach your Pokemon some moves from the Move Relearner.

Heart Scales can be obtained in a lot of ways but here’s a nice trick to farm them. It would help if you had a Pokemon with the Thief ability.

Head to Route 8 on the Muraille Coast and use the Old Rod. You can encounter Luvdiscs and use the Thief ability on them to steal Heart Scales.

They have a 50% chance to hold a Heart Scale, but if you want a good source, this is a good trick.

Good Source of Unlimited Rare Candy

Rare Candies can be one of those Pokemon X and Y cheats that people will use. You can get Rare Candy by trading it with Poke Miles.

You can get Poke Miles by using the Street Pass or by using the Wonder Trade system. Here’s the trick, if the person you are trading with is far basically from one country to another, you can get more Poke Miles.

What you can do is keep trading with that person until you get a lot of Poke Miles. Rare Candies can be traded by 500 Poke Miles.

If you have the patience and another person to trade with from far away, then you can get a good amount of Rare Candies.

A Nice Place to Hatch Pokemon Eggs

Head to Lumiose City and you’ll notice that the city has a nice shape for your character to run around. Basically, the map allows you to walk around it without being stopped or halted by some obstacles.

You can have something on top of the button to let the character walk without holding it on your own.

A Little Help For Your Pokedex

Completing your Pokedex is hard, but here’s one tip you can do. Go to the place where there are three cafes.

You can pay 100, 1,000, and 5,000 to enter them. Each of these options will allow you to see some Pokemon.

However, the 5,000 option will guarantee to show you one Pokemon that is not in your Pokedex.

Be sure to do this when you’re at the point where you’re completing your Pokedex. That’s because you can only use these services once.

Getting Items During Battle

There are things called Natural Objects in X and Y. Basically; they are the background in a battle screen. Think about a tree or a lump of soil.

Using specific moves can destroy those Natural Objects revealing an item that you can get.

If you want to farm these items, then simply perform a battle and destroy the Natural Objects over and over again.

Below is a list of items, locations, moves, and Natural Objects that you can destroy:

Reminders When Using Pokemon X and Y Cheats

Some Pokemon X and Y cheats require additional instructions before they can work, so double check every code you used to confirm if you need to press any more buttons on your controller.

Unfortunately, many of the cheat codes for this game don’t work, but we’ll keep updating in case we receive any usable codes in the future.

Are there any cheats or important information that we missed? Feel free to share them in the comments section below.

    • Dgee, these codes are designed for Citra. Although Azahar is a Citra fork, we can’t guarantee that all cheats will work there. For Manic Emu, we don’t recommend using our codes for that emulator.

  5. Tested the code to unlock all TMs and HMs. First, you have to press Select to activate it, something that is missing from the description of the code. Second, it only gives you TMs 1-92. It doesn’t give you TMs 93-100, and doesn’t give HMs either.

After creating a corrected version of the code, I noticed not everything it was supposed to give was being given. After experimenting, I found the code actually started at the wrong portion of memory, effectively writing starting at the 14th TM/HM item, instead of the beginning of the list. After adjusting for this, I got a working code that gives all TMs and HMs for v1.0, then modified it to work on v1.5. I’ve tested the codes for both X and Y, as well as for v1.0 and v1.5.

    • Can i have a code just to get surf hm? (for some reason i didnt get the surf hms through the story i think its a bug or something) I previously used the code that let me to unlock all tms but there were no hm, then i saw this, when i decided to replace the code with this one it says my saved data corrupted.

      • While I *could* give you a code that changes an existing TM or HM to HM3, a code that just adds HM3 would be much more difficult. With that said, something I observed in testing the creation of this code found that the game auto-sorts your TM/HM pocket if there are empty slots, so it *might* be possible to stick HM3 at the end of the pocket, then next time the game sorts your TM/HM pocket, it’ll move Surf where it needs to be. Note that this will be a code you need to turn off as soon as you’ve used it, or you could end up with duplicate Surf HMs. These codes are untested, so backup your save before trying this.

  6. The TM/HM code is broken. Keeps giving Surf, Strength, and Waterfall HMs as the first three slots of Medicine, and repeats Hone Claws with an extra “None” tm at 4th place in the Tm section.

    • There isn’t a TM/HM code here as far as I can tell. I’ve even refreshed the page to check for it.

I can think of a few possibilities for why the code would fail to work, my guess is the E function for copying multiple bytes was used and had some incorrect values included in the bytes being copied, but since the code isn’t here, I can’t really analyze it.

To use this one, go to Route 2, hold Select and press L. Note: This is the L shoulder button, not left on the d-pad. This will change the quantity of items in the first 2 inventory slots of your Items pockets to 721 and 100.

Throw away enough of the first item to change it to the national pokedex number of the pokemon you want to catch. Go to the second item and throw away enough items to change it to the level you want to catch that pokemon at. For example, for a Lv 70 Mewtwo, throw away all but 150 of the first item, and throw away 30 of the second item, leaving you 70.

Now press Select + R. After that, encounter wild pokemon and they will all be the pokemon you chose at the level you chose.

Important note: This code is not compatible with codes that modify items in your items pocket. Those codes will overwrite the item quantities, breaking the code. Do not use this with those types of codes.

  9. Hello! Thanks for the cheat codes. They are working fine for me. The problem is that when I use a cheat code, and save the game after, the game will just crash. I tried replicating the issue by not using a cheat code after that, and the save works. So I tested it by activating a cheat code, then disabling it before saving, it will still crash. I tried further by activating the code, disabling, and deleted it from the code library, issue still persists. This is happening to all codes. Is there are fix for this? I appreciate any help!

  10. So, I did some testing, and was able to come up with 1.5 versions of the wild pokemon modifier codes on Route 2 pretty easily. For the one where your number of pokeballs in the first slot (any item works, pokeballs are just cheap to buy and sell) controls the species you encounter, just change these lines.

    DA000000 08C67556
    B8CEC554 00000000

    Change them to this:

    DA000000 08C67566
    B8CEC564 00000000

Most memory locations in 1.5 are just the 1.0 values +10. That made it easy for me to make the change and test, and it behaved the same way as the 1.0 version of the code described.

With that said, it looks like the code only modifies the first 7 pokemon entries in the wild pokemon table, which will make the pokemon you want fairly common, but not guaranteed. Changing C0000000 00000006 to C0000000 0000002F should make it guaranteed by changing the entire table.

For the Eeveelutions wild encounter code, change every instance of B8CEC554 to B8CEC564 and that will update the code to work in 1.5.

  11. Hi the shiny encounter code doesn’t work for me on emulator I’ve been trying to get a shiny starter and yet I did press START and L. Are you supposed to press them together at the same time or separately? Or the code for the shiny encounter doesn’t work for Citra-downloaded roms?

  12. is there a cheat or mod that will automatically send eggs to the pc instead of just receiving a party of 5 and the having to manually deposit them. It would make shiny hunting via breeding faster and easier

    D2000000 00000000

    as the code

    • Hi, did you back up your save file? We gave a warning above that you need to back up your save file first just to be safe. Also, did you use the right cheat for the ROM version you have? Try disabling the cheat.

  14. I have a wild pokemon modifier code that works without any of these key combinations for v1.0 Pokemon X and Y iTested this on X
    B8CEC554 00000000
    C0000000 0000002F
    10001414 00000XXX
    10001416 00000032
    DC000000 00000004
    D2000000 00000000

For the first XXX place the Hex number national ID into decimal with hex to dec converter then place the three leetters or numbers to it at the XXX slot. Then go to route 2 and check if it works .Tell me if it needs better explanation.

I have an example code if u dont trust it try this first B8CEC554 00000000
    C0000000 0000002F
    10001414 00000006
    10001416 00000032
    DC000000 00000004
    D2000000 00000000
If ur wondering this for charizard and the 032 you are seeing is level 50 in code like I said type the level of what u want it to be in the hex to dec converter and place it there if u dont want them to be level 50

    • Thanks for sharing this, Pokemaster! Although can you explain this a bit better?

Please correct me if I did something wrong, and I’m no math wiz either so please bear with me. So you got this code:

      B8CEC554 00000000
      C0000000 0000002F
      10001414 00000XXX
      10001416 00000032
      DC000000 00000004
      D2000000 00000000

Following your instructions, I need to change the XXX digits with the Pokemon’s National Dex number right? Then convert it from hexadecimal to decimal. I tried using a converter online to see if I can replicate your Charizard code. However, upon entering Charizard’s National Dex as Hexadecimal and convert it into Decimal, what I get is one digit instead of three, which doesn’t fit to the XXX code that I need to change.

Same goes to changing the level. Can you share me what converter you use? It would be very helpful, thanks!

      • So I just checked this wild modifier for you. The charizard code works.
so the code that he got wrong is that it doesnt go on the dex # but their hex number here : https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pokémon_by_index_number_in_Generation_VI

So if I want to get poliwag it would be hex code 03C that you put in the “XXX” here.

        10001414 00000XXX –> 10001414 0000003C

So it would look like this

        B8CEC554 00000000
        C0000000 0000002F
        10001414 0000003C
        10001416 000000YY
        DC000000 00000004
        D2000000 00000000

        As for the YY section
adjust it to “01-09″for YY, it sets the level to 1-9. but when I inputted “10” it jumped to level 16. and from then it adds another 1 level per 1 number increased up to 25. So level 16-25 for numbers “10-19” the number “20” is level 32. So from what it seems, every “10” you add to the “YY” is equivalent to 16 levels. and every single digits you add to it is 1 level. which makes sense why charizard is level 50 when “YY” is “32”

so let’s say I want a lvl 18 poliwag, this should look like this.

        B8CEC554 00000000
        C0000000 0000002F
        10001414 0000003C
        10001416 00000012
        DC000000 00000004
        D2000000 00000000

sorry if im bad at explaining, it was late at night

        • Hi KorSooshi!

I tried your method, but it still won’t work, even your Poliwag code. What ROM version are you using for this one? Mine’s Pokemon X 1.5.

Or do I need to press specific buttons first while walking on the tall grass?

    • Hi. Thanks for providing the code. It works for me! However, i find that the game doesnt spawn pokemon that evolves via trades like gengar, steelix, Machamp, Scizor etc. The game didnt crash with gengar machamp steelix codes but the wild pokemon wont appear in the grass. I walked for like 10 plus minutes but no wild pokemon showed up with those pokemon codes. Hellpp

      • I think I may have figured it out, though I’ve gotten it successfully twice. I’ve been leaving the cheat off, then when I encounter a pokemon I want to catch I turn it on, and then turn it off once I’ve captured the pokemon.

          • It’s not perfect, but with no cheats active when searching for the pokemon, enabling it and disabling it as soon as it’s caught seems the most consistent. Also it seems to work more when I go into the ball pocket as opposed to using the last used item.

  15. hello everyone,

    • Hi Tezuka, give some a bit more time to investigate this issue. I’m looking for Pokemon Modifier codes so I can test the cheat again using Poke Balls for Legendary Wild mons.

        • Yes, these cheats can work on regular 3DS consoles. However, modifying the console’s firmware is required to enable cheat functionality, and to the best of my knowledge, this process carries some risk. It involves technical steps, and we have not covered this topic yet.
