In Pokemon Odyssey, there is a place called Charon, not to be confused with a character from the game’s story, who is also named Charon.
A lot of players wonder how to get to Charon in Pokemon Odyssey. This isn’t some secret or post-game place.
You can access Charon very early on, and if you don’t know how, we’ll teach you how to do it. There are a couple of things that you can do in Charon, so don’t worry.

Starting the Sea Navigation Quests
You have to start the game normally first. Progress through the game until you reach Talrega, which is the central hub of the game.
This won’t take too long, and probably less than an hour. Once the game frees you of its tutorials and dialogue, head to the image below.
This location is where the captain resides. Talk to him to start the Sea Navigational quests. As you can see in the image below, these four quests will require you to find the right routes and end up in the location listed on the quests.
You can see Charon there, which is where you want to go in the first place.
The good thing is that you don’t need to complete all of these quests to get to Charon. You can even do just Charon, and those other quests wouldn’t matter.
Talk to the Captain again, and you will be on the boat to navigate the seas. Our goal now is to head to Charon, listed below.
How to Get to Charon in Pokemon Odyssey
It is important to note that navigating the seas can be tricky. The currents will automatically drag you in a specific direction. It’s like a puzzle that you need to solve.
If you land in a whirlpool, you will be sent back to a specific location where you have to try again.
Step 1: Head Right from Talrega
Now that we’re in the sea or ocean overworld, head right first until you see the big current.
Step 2: Head Right at the Bottom Part of the Current
Navigate to the bottom part of the big current, going right again. Go to the lower right after getting out of the big current.
Step 3: Head Down on This Current
Step 4: Head Left This Time
Step 5: Head Down Again
Step 6: Go Down Again
Step 7: Go Right This Time
Step 8: Fight and Defeat the F.O.E.
Now, this section is where the challenge will be. All you need to do now is go up. However, there is an F.O.E. or a very strong Pokemon blocking your way.
This Pokemon is a level 45 Kingdra, which you need to defeat. Once you are able to defeat it, you can now gain access to Charon.
After the Kingdra is defeated, you will be able to save the path to Charon. This means you can teleport automatically from the stone pillars without the need to set sail.
What to Do in Charon?
Changing your Nature
The number one thing to do here is that you can change your Pokemon’s nature.
In the image below, you can see three NPCs, where the first one sells Vitamins and the other two will change your Pokemon’s Nature.
You will need to pay up, but if you have money, you can do this an unlimited number of times.
Get some TMs and Items
You can get some nice TMs and Items here for free. Talk to some of the NPCs and open those chests.
The Daiga Quest
This quest can only be accessed once you complete the Second Stratum. There will be two NPCs blocking your path to Brigit Farm if you haven’t completed the Second Stratum yet.
This quest is to battle all three of his friends. The battles can be challenging, and he’ll reward you with TM31 for all of your troubles.
Using Walk Through Walls Cheats
By using this Pokemon Odyssey cheat, you can navigate through the seas easily. The currents will still throw you back in their direction, but you can gain access to Charon quickly without the need to battle the Kingdra.

FAQs
Do I need to access Charon right away?
The answer depends on you. The main point of going here is for Nature change. If you don’t need it right away, then you can hold on until later.Â
Once again, the Kingdra is the one that will put a stop to your progress when you want to go there.
Do I need to do the other sea navigation quests?
No, all of those other locations can be accessed at any given time, the same as Charon. There might be points of interest there, but going to those locations is their own puzzle when it comes to the currents.
Does the Walk Through Walls cheat bug out?
Based on our testing, they don’t seem to have a problem. Even if you bypass the Kingdra, you can get to Charon and save the teleport location.Â
You can turn it off or remove the cheat once you’re done, and you have the teleportation feature anyway.
In Closing
How to get to Charon in Pokemon Odyssey is a matter of current puzzles. It is reminiscent of those old puzzles, like navigating through the ice cave or Team Rocket’s hideout.
If you are able to figure out the water current’s direction, then you can head to another location as well.
You also don’t need to rush it, but nothing will stop you from doing so, except maybe the Kingdra. It is an F.O.E. Pokemon that you cannot catch.
