Warnings

Cheats are cool and useful stuff but can be a disaster if used without caution. Before activating any cheats in your Pokemon Sapphire game, be sure to use our recommended GBA emulators.

Next, do not activate too many cheats at once; this can make your game go crazy and confused, leading to sudden freezing or restart without saving the progress.

That’s it! I hope you find these cheat codes for Pokemon Sapphire useful, and if you have questions regarding the topic, you can post them in the comment section below.

Pokemon Sapphire is still being played today, and that’s where these Pokemon Sapphire cheats come into play. A majority would say that Sapphire isn’t their favorite game, but that can be just a minor point as of now. When it comes to these cheats, it is up to you if you use them or not.

The other thing is that many of these cheats may not be enough. There are still some cheats that can be made, but the ones we have now work, so that’s the important thing.

Always remember not to use a lot of cheats at the same time and always have them turned on when you need to.

  1. Playing from a r36s, having difficulty getting cheats to work. Initially I was able to get the wild encounters to work but ever since that first time I had my game crash (assuming from trying to activate multiple cheats at once) I haven’t been able to get any cheats to work at all. I tried to reset configuration, reset the device, delete all cheats then readd them, as well as ensure I have no active overrides on. Anything I could possibly be doing incorrectly? I am ensuring I add the description/code/turn cheat on/apply changes. I can’t get the cheats to work but when I activate multiple at once I still get the game crashes.

  2. Uh the codes for Sapphire
aren’t working and I’m on mobile, My Boy is my launcher for the game and it doesn’t work nothing happens I don’t have bad eggs nor I’m crashing and can you make codes for Emerald too?

    • Hey Oliver, thanks for coming here and sharing your feedback. Unfortunately, overusing cheats can lead to issues like Bad Eggs, and in some cases even Pokemon in your party can turn into Bad Eggs.

What I suggest is to restart your emulator with all cheats disabled, then re-enable cheats one at a time only when needed. This usually helps prevent further problems.

    • Did you have any other cheats enabled besides the walk through walls cheat? Activating multiple cheats at once can often trigger this issue. You may need to restart your emulator with all cheats disabled to clear any previous cheat effects. After that, try enabling only one cheat at a time. Hope this helps.

    • Hey Gael, we haven’t tested these cheats using the kind of emulator you’re using. Any chance of switching to a more reliable emulator? You can try Delta for iOS, or MyBoy for Android. mGBA works best also for both Windows and Mac OS.

  5. The wild Pokémon modifier isn’t working at all for gen 3 pokemon. And gen 1 & 2 Pokémon just crash the game.
I’ve deactivated all other cheats and done everything else I can to troubleshoot but it still won’t work. Any fix for this?

    • Hi there, Musicman. May I know which GBA emulator you are using? I suggest using recommended emulators such as MyBoy, John GBA, Delta for iOS, or mGBA.

      Reply
        • I see. I use the Delta emulator as well, and these cheats work perfectly for me. It’s possible that the cheat is still active in the background, even after being disabled—this is a common issue with some emulators.

          Here’s what you can do:

          1. Disable all cheats.
          2. Save your game using the in-game save option (not save states).
          3. Completely close the Delta emulator.
          4. Reopen the emulator and launch your game—this should fully clear any lingering cheat effects.

Once you’re back in the game, try applying only one cheat at a time to avoid conflicts. Let me know how it goes!

It doesn’t work, the game just crashes i use Delta, the Shiny Pokemon one works fine, the MasterBall one works fine, Rare Candy works fine, The Pokemon modifier either legendary or whatever doesn’t work and also the walk thru walls also not working for me

  7. Hm, i tried to use the Legendary’s codes but none worked. There was another comment with the same question and i tried the answer, but it still did not work. Could someone help me?

    • Hi Rapty, is it the Legendary Pokemon cheat that isn’t working? Have you tried any of the other cheats to see if they work? Make sure you’re using an English version of Pokemon Sapphire because these cheats are specifically tested on that version. If you’re using a different language or ROM version, the cheats might not work properly. Let me know what emulator you’re using too — that can sometimes affect cheat performance.

    • Hey Luke, this happens with some emulators. May I know which one you’re using?

In your case, it seems your emulator is still detecting the cheat as active even after you’ve deactivated or deleted it. To fix this, follow these steps:

      1. Disable or delete all cheats.
      2. Save your game progress using the in-game save feature.
      3. Exit the game and close your emulator completely.
      4. Reopen the game—the cheats should now be cleared from your emulator.

      Hope this helps.

  8. All of the Pokémon modifier cheats work except for the ones that are actually apart of the region in sapphire. I’ve tried using a separate cheat for the master code, but the others worked with having the code in all at once in the same cheat. Has a solution been discovered for this yet?

    • Hi Namman, thanks for coming here. To use the wild Pokemon modifier and the legendary Pokemon, you can use Action Replay or GameShark. However, don’t enter the code in the Code Breaker section of your Delta emulator. If most of the listed cheats don’t work for you, it might be because you’re using a different Sapphire version. We use the English version of Sapphire here.

  11. I just started a new save file for Sapphire, and I got many of the Items and TMs cheats to work. However, I am still having trouble with modifying the wild encounters to Eevee and Vaporeon. Every time I have one of them enabled and I go into the tall grass to trigger an encounter, the game crashed and I am forced back to the opening sequence. I don’t understand why this isn’t working – I copied both of the codes directly from the post, and I have only one of them on at a time.
I’m playing on XONE, V1.1, Codebreaker.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Reply
    • Hi Melia, sorry, but we don’t use XONE here. It’s possible that your emulator doesn’t fully support cheats. Even if you disable other cheats, the emulator might still recognize them as active, which could be causing the crashes. Try restarting your emulator before adding new cheats—it may help resolve the issue.

      • I am using my boy and the legendary and wild pokemon modifiers do not work either. The game just crashes and restarts everytime.

        Reply
        • Thank you for joining us, Andrew. First, make sure you’re using the Sapphire English 1.0 version, as this version works best with cheats. You mentioned the game crashes and restarts frequently—this could be due to having multiple cheats enabled simultaneously. To prevent this, we always recommend enabling only one cheat at a time and disabling it after use.

  37. So I tried the shiny pokémon cheat with the wild pokémon modifier and catch the pokemon (Ditto, to be exact). The problem is, when I captured it, it’s name is glitchy. I tried again, but the name is still glitchy. This time I tried to nickname the pokémon it’s real name, but the name is still glitchy so I tried to remove the shiny pokémon cheat and the name is back to normal. So I tried a different pokémon without the wild pokémon modifier but the name is still glitchy. Why?

    Reply
    • Been there pal and I understand this is annoying. The only way to get rid of this glitchy Pokemon name is by turning off the cheat before catching the Pokemon. This method works to many of our readers and I believe this will work for you. We have tested this method on Myboy.

    • You may have other cheats enabled that causing the conflict. Or better disable all cheats and do a restart of your emulator. Basically, once rare candy cheat is successfully enabled, you no longer need to code again.

    • Check your Pokemon Sapphire version, if it is v1.1 most likely the cheats will not work. Most of these cheats will work only for V1.0 and not for V1.1. Also be sure to use recommended emulator, I suggest using My Boy.

      Reply
    • As far as I know cheats works best for V1.0, some codes are code breaker while some are action replay codes. You can easily determine cheat types, shorter cheat codes are Code breaker while longer codes are mostly action replays.

Hey, the Share exp code does not work as described your Pokemon team are supposed to gain exp like in gen 6 and 7 games (3DS ones) and I tried to take off the Exp share held item and after winning a random battle only my main Pokemon gained experience. I am using the US version which I randomized via the Universal Randomizer. Maybe the randomizing software has disabled this cheat?

I just want all of my 6 team members to gain exp just like in most fantasy RPG games out there!

  56. So I’m using VBA 1.8.0-beta3.2 with Sapphire Version (U)(V1.1) which I’ve tried downloads of from several different cites. The whole game works without cheats. I can put in the master codes and things work fine. I can then also use item modification cheats with the master codes to successfully get infinite rare candies or master balls.

The cheats work and the game continues to function, but if I use wild pokemon modifiers to try and catch a wild charmander or even a Gen 3 pokemon like Taillow as soon as I encounter a wild pokemon the game restarts.

It keeps my in-game save (not F1 through VBA, although those aren’t affected either) and I can load up to where I was, but from then on, even without re-entering the cheats, the game restarts on any wild pokemon encounter. What am I doing wrong? Why do all of the cheats but the wild pokemon cheats work?
