I had this experience before with mgba. Perhaps mgba uses different engine for running gba games. If possible, try switching to VBA. That emulator works best with cheats and that’s what we’re using when testing cheats.

Hi Dani, simply ignore that message and proceed activating the cheat. After that, go to PokeMart and purchase the first item in the list, that purchased item will turn to TM/HM of your choice.

I’m trying to evolve my cyndaquil and when it doesn’t, the message comes up as ……..? And the funny thing is that my cyndaquil hasn’t been holding the ever stone item. How do I get around this?

There was another person (Akm Adrito) having this problem with Starter Pokemons posted some days ago.
What version do you play? the newest (1.3.8)? How did you get your Cyndaquil? Is it above lvl 14? How are you lvling it up? with candy or by normal battle exp or with a cheat? Have you tried depositting it in you PC and withdrawing it again? changing order in your Team? Giving it in Day-Care and retrieving it again? maybe also a Trade could reset it somehow? also is it a shiny one?
Anyone else having this problem? Is this a new bug?
I am going to test it on the newest version soon, maybe I can recreate the bug and we can find a way to solve it.

I think I found error like you described! When you lvl your Starter to the Evolution LVL it starts evolving, but then suddenly it stops and says “…..?” right?
For me this happened when I was trying to evolve it BEFORE I got my Pokedex from Prof. Oak! So this might cause the problem. Have you tried to evolve like this early? So I recommend not trying to evolve it before you get your Pokdex or it can mess up the Evolution of your Starter.

If you are using Rare Candies to upgrade it, don’t until it’s second evolution, I’ve noticed with a lot of these rom hacks that if you try to evolve/level your starter with rare Candy, it’ll get stuck on the first evolution. Evolve it normally the first time, and then you can use Rare Candies to your hearts content.
By normally I mean with EXP from battles, using the EXP cheat listed here will do the trick if you don’t like grinding.
I found a small Error in my Item List:
The two Mushrooms tiny and big are indeed useful:
They are needed for the Move Relearner Guy in Blackthorn City.

Unfortunately I haven’t seen a working a Code for Ultra Shiny Sigma Gold yet for either one…
Personally I haven’t dealt much with these kind of Cheats yet. However there are some for other Rom Hacks, so I assume there could be also a possible Cheat Code for Ultra Shiny Gold Sigma…

“Cerulean City: Need to go to Ecruteak City, to Burned Tower and face Morty to get repair your GosthBuster. Face a Ghost from Celurean and get in there. Go through Kanto Power Plant. Go get a Machine Part hidden at Celurean’s gym by a Rocket.
Face that Rocket. Go up and watch Misty’s date (Rudy). Face Misty and get HM Dive.”
2.) Cheat: Use the respective code of “TM&HMs” List above (015A = HM08 Dive)

Are you pressing B, when it tries to evolve or does it carry an everstone?
What starter Pokemon is it exactly? And what level is it at the moment?

Hey there, I did the unlimited money, rare candies and Masterballs cheats. The Masterballs cheats didn’t work for me and my pokemon encounters are screwed up. I’m only encountering one type of pokemon per route, always the same gender and level and always a shiny pokemon, and I’m trying to figure out how to fix it before I just delete and redownload the game 🙁
is your cheat still enabled?
I had the same issue and it returned to normal, when i disabled the cheat.

Personally I try to save even double (ingame aswell as in MyBoy) everytime I use a cheat now, in case something like this happens. Maybe this can help you in the future.

Update: I deleted the game download from my phone, and then I went and re-downloaded it. My data was still saved and everything has been perfectly fine since. No problems at all. So maybe that’s a solution if anyone has a similar issue.

Hi Kevin, thanks for coming here. Sorry but there’s no way to fix bad egg. But you can get rid of it by depositing it to your Box. Also, be sure to avoid using those cheats that causes you the bad egg.
Trying to use the Rare Candy cheat on VBA-M and it keeps saying that it is a code for a different game. Does anyone have a fix for this?
The cheat will still work normally even after receiving that message. Just ignore it and proceed enabling the cheat.

There’s no way to dispose those items once saved AFAIK. Just be sure to disable every cheats after use to get rid of issues.
