Eevee is known to have multiple evolutions. In the main games, you normally use Evolution stones or raise its Friendship to get the form that you want. Getting an Eevee
This is where the grind begins because like all Pokemon in the game, an Eevee doesn’t spawn in one place. The other thing is that it doesn’t spawn all the time considering that it is by random luck that you get one. However, when an Eevee does spawn in an area, then you may consider staying in that area for the time being. Pokemon that spawn there tend to keep coming out for a couple of minutes until they no longer show up. Make sure to catch a lot of Eevees until then.
Basic evolution step
An Eevee can evolve when you have 25 Eevee Candies. That’s why catching multiple Eevees can be good because you don’t only get a number of them to evolve but you get Candies whenever you do so. If you just evolve it naturally, the result will be random.
On top of that, an Eevee can either evolve from Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. You have no control over what it will evolve into when you use that step. Don’t worry because here are the tricks on what you can do to evolve it to the form that you want.
The Naming Trick
Here is an actual trick that will evolve Eevee to the form that you want. This is called the naming trick because you simply change the name of your Eevee, give it the 25 Candies and it will evolve into the form that you want. Change the name of your Eevee to the following names and then evolve them.
- Pyro will evolve into Flareon
- Sparky will evolve into Jolteon
- Rainer will evolve into Vaporeon
- Tamao will evolve into Umbreon
- Sakura will evolve into Espeon
- Linnae will evolve into Leafeon
- Rea will evolve into Glaceon
An important thing to note is that the name trick will only work once per form. Basically, you can only get one Flareon for naming your Eevee Pyro. If you name another one Pyro, then it will randomly evolve to any of the three forms Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. However, you can use the Name Trick to get all forms but again you’ll only have one of each.
Walking Buddy Trick
This trick will only work for Umbreon and Espeon but you can do this multiple times. Basically, set the Eevee that you want to evolve into either of the two as your Buddy. Now, you have to walk around 10KM but it doesn’t have to be in one session. You can pile up the distance as long as Eevee is your Buddy. Along the way, you also need to earn 2 Eevee Candies. You can catch an Eevee along the way to get the number of candies.
Before you hit the 10KM distance, make sure that it is day or night in your area. That’s because when you hit the 10KM requirement, your Eevee will evolve into Umbreon during nighttime and Espeon during the day. This takes a lot of preparation and planning so that you get the form that you want and not evolve them at the wrong time of day. Do this over and over again in case you want one more of each.
The Lure Trick
There are items called the Mossy Lure and the Glacial Lure. This trick is very easy and all you need to do is go to a nearby Poke Stop. Use the Mossy Lure if you want to get a Leafeon or the Glacial Lure if you want to get a Glaceon. When the lure is set, just use the 25 Eevee candies and it will evolve to either Leafeon or Glaceon depending on which lure is present. Do this over and over again to get the forms that you want.

The Name Trick is like the best way to get all forms but you can only use it once per form. Using the Walking Buddy Trick can net you more of Umbreon or Espeon.
