After your long and tiring journey from Rock Tunnel, you are probably excited to finally battle Misty. You barge into the Cerulean Gym, ready to drain her Water-type team in battle, only to find the gym completely empty.
In both vanilla Crystal and Pokemon Ambrosia, Misty won’t be at her gym when you first arrive. So, where did she go?
It turns out, you need to complete a short side quest involving the Kanto Power Plant and Team Rocket before she returns.
In this guide, we will show you where to find Misty, how to bring her back to the Cerulean Gym, and how to beat her team.
Key Highlights:
- Misty is found at the Sea Cottage beside Bill’s house, north of Cerulean City.
- You must first complete the Power Plant and Team Rocket side quest before Misty appears.
- Misty uses a dangerous Water-type team, with most of them having Water Absorb.

Where to Find Misty in Pokemon Ambrosia
Misty can be found at the Sea Cottage right beside Bill’s house, north of Cerulean City. However, you cannot meet her there immediately.
Before Misty appears, you need to finish a specific side quest involving the Power Plant and Team Rocket.

This event is required because Misty will not return to the Cerulean Gym until you trigger the right story sequence.
Step 1: Head to the Kanto Power Plant

Start by going to the Kanto Power Plant, which is located east of Cerulean City.
Once you enter the Power Plant, talk to the employees inside. They will tell you that something is wrong and that the generator has been damaged.
The workers are worried, and their boss is furious about what happened. Look for the boss inside the Power Plant and talk to him.
This conversation is important because it moves the side quest forward.

After speaking with the boss, leave the Power Plant. Once you step outside, an announcement will be triggered.
You will find out that the culprit behind the damaged generator has been spotted in Cerulean City. That is your signal to return to Cerulean and investigate the gym.
Step 2: Go Back to the Cerulean Gym

After the Power Plant announcement, head back to the Cerulean Gym.
Inside the gym, you will encounter Primera, a Team Rocket official. Instead of challenging you properly, Primera will flee after the confrontation. Bold move for a villain, but not exactly intimidating.
This encounter confirms that Team Rocket is connected to the Power Plant incident. Once Primera runs away, the next step is to look for Misty.
At this point, Misty is still not back inside the gym. You need to go north of Cerulean City and head toward the Sea Cottage.
Step 3: Go to the Sea Cottage

From Cerulean City, travel north toward the Nugget Bridge area and continue toward Bill’s house.
Right before Bill’s house, near the Sea Cottage, you will bump into Misty. She is not exactly happy to see you because you interrupted her date.
Because of that, she gets angry and tells you to challenge her at the Cerulean Gym.
After this scene, Misty and her Trainers will finally return to the Cerulean Gym. Once she leaves the Sea Cottage, go back to Cerulean City and enter the gym. Misty will now be waiting there, ready for battle.
How to Beat Misty in Pokemon Ambrosia

Misty is not a pushover in Pokemon Ambrosia. Her team is much stronger than what players may remember from classic games, and she uses several Water-type Pokemon with secondary typing, so a Grass or Electric type alone won’t cut it.
At first glance, you might think your Sceptile or that Raichu near the Rock Tunnel can easily sweep her team, but it is not that simple.

Some of her Pokemon are built to punish that kind of strategy. Also, all Pokemon in Ambrosia have two abilities, and Water Absorb could be a problem if you make a mistake. That’s why strictly no Water-type moves against Misty.
| Misty’s Pokemon | Type Weaknesses | Best Counters |
|---|---|---|
| Politoed | Electric | Weaken it with status. Use a hard-hitting Electric type. |
| Gyarados | Electric | x4 weakness to Electric types |
| Starmie | Electric, Ghost, Dark, Grass | A bulky Dark or Electric type that can take a hit and counterattack. |
| Swampert | Grass | Any strong Grass-type attack can bring it to its knees. |
| Kingdra | Dragon, Fairy | Fairy type is the best answer since they are immune to Dragon-type moves and super effective against Kingdra. |
| Poliwrath | Psychic, Flying, Electric, Grass | Use Psychic types and lean towards attacking its lower special defense. |
Conclusion
Misty in Pokemon Ambrosia won’t be like other gym leaders who are sitting in their gyms, waiting for you to challenge them.Â
To bring Misty back, visit the Kanto Power Plant, talk to the employees and the boss, return to the Cerulean Gym to encounter Primera, then head north to the Sea Cottage beside Bill’s house.
