Story
The story is the same as FireRed, but without spoiling; the path you take is a bit different. Nevertheless, if you’ve played FireRed, you have an idea of where to go. Play the Gyms in reverse, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Features
A lot of the features from FireRed remain the same. Aside from the reverse aspect, one of the biggest changes is that the game is slightly more challenging. Several typings have been changed as well some Pokemon battles have made it harder. Basically, the enemy Trainers are a bit more challenging.
Speaking of the Trainers, they have been changed, as well as the Pokemon they use. Several Pokemon spawns have also been changed. Just rethink how you would progress with the game, but everything is mostly the same.
