A piece of exciting news in the world of Pokemon rom hacking and to every Pokemon Glazed fan had just arrived. The popular Pokemon Glazed is now updated and improved. Hopefully, we can expect more of these improvements in the coming days.
The game has taken another leap after years of idleness. A guy named TrainerX493 from the Pokecommunity has decided to improve Pokemon Glazed. Dozens of fixes and improvements have been made that will surely make you choose to play Pokemon Glazed once again.
One more exciting news is that the 7b saves are compatible with 8.5.1. This means if you played the previous Glazed 7b version, you continue playing it in the newest Glazed version.
Fixing Penthouse Key Glitch

- Animations for Pokémon are no longer disabled and is working for all Pokémon. (Sprites by MrDollSteak Sprite Resource)
- By editing EV’s and slightly levels, the areas of the first four Gyms are easier, Post 8th Gym is a bit harder, and Post 16th Gym is a good bit harder (Smother difficulty curve overall).
- Pokémon stats, moves learnset (mostly TMs and Tutors anyway), move power, items, and more are updated to match Gen7 from Gen6.
- Steel no longer resist Dark and Ghost.
- Opponent trainers now properly recognize Fairy type.
- Icons for Physical/Special/Status moves (physical/special split already existed).
- Mega Pokémon now can actually learn moves, and can change back by using the Mega Stone again (It still acts like normal evolution though).
- Cameron’s Dojo is now less of a grind and won’t over level your team using it.
- Scarfed Pikachu is a lot stronger (but still reasonable, just enough to not be terrible).
- Most gift and trade Pokémon now hold items, and many wild Pokémon now have held items included in later games.
- EV capped at 252.
- Stats now show color based on Nature.
- Mew/Arceus (aka Deoxys) from outside of the event now obeys.
- Default options when starting a new game will have the text speed set to “Fast”, sound setting set to “Stereo”, and PC boxes will now use all 12 wallpapers when starting a new save instead of repeating the first 4.
- Maps had 99% of errors fixed, so no more invisible walls or tables you can walk through.
- Mega Stone X now has an icon.
- A bunch of Pokédex stuff fixed.
- Lots of Bug fixes.

Hotfix Update Information
Notes for people looking to update:
- Many uncommon/low power moves were replaced, so any Pokémon with these moves will have them be changed.
- The player can go to the town with the 3rd gym leader for the move tutor if you need. (Example: any Pokémon that knew Bubble will now have Judgment.)
- The Pokédex order was changed, so any progress made will be shuffled around. For example, if Mew was caught, it’ll have set that you have caught the #151 Pokémon.
- Mew is now #164, and Omanyte is instead #151, so it’ll show Omanyte as caught instead.
- Outside of a 100% dex completion, this can largely be ignored.
- Finally, Riolu, Shinx, Luxio, Pikachu, and to a lesser extent, several others had their stats buffed, which won’t reflect until the next time they level-up.

Note from TrainerX493 (hotfix author): 7b saves and all other 8.X saves are compatible with version 8.7.0, just replace the original ROM and make sure it uses the same name. Use NPS patcher or https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ with a clean Emerald.gba (Trashman) rom to use this patch (Get these yourself, it’s not hard to find if you use Google, with the patch itself at the bottom of this post).
mGBA will crash if the audio driver is set to “Qt Multimedia”. Make sure this is set to “SDL” instead (this applies to older versions, including 7b).

I tried the patch and when I open the file with my gba emulator it just freezes on a white screen. Used the website listed to apply patch and everything worked up until I tried to play. 10/10 does not work and 10/10 do not recommend
Hi David, white screen problems usually happen when your base rom version is incorrect. Maybe you have the v1.1 emerald version, but the game requires V1.0. Try looking for the v1.0, which most rom hacks require. Hope this helps.
Is this working on android? I tried several times but it says “patch is not compatible with rom” or whatever i even download a lot of emeral version but none of it works… Btw i am using unipatch from playstore

To make newest patch 8.6.3 to work. Download pokemon emerald original rom. Download unipatcher from play store then patch glazed 8.6.3 directly to the original unmolested pokemon emerald. Ik this is old comment but for new player this is what I did to make it work.

it seems that the rom would not patch even though I had the correct rom, patch, and I use the visual boy advance. but I got it to work somehow and I have no issues so far what so ever. I love it so far.
Hey,i downloaded this but when i tried to open the game an error popped up saying the file type was unsupported and another saying that there was no image on the zip file. I use the visual boy advance emulator and im very new to hacked roms. Any tip?
Aside from both of these files which you need- you need to google the Blazed GBA file. Open in UPS patcher and patch Beta 7b to the GBA file then patch 8.6.3 to the GBA file after. Once this is done you can open in Visual Boy advanced or whatever program you use.

I played up to the first gym in the first region (Took my time and talked to everyone I saw and it took 3 hours). But when I went to fight all the trainers in the gym, the first guy has an Electrike that uses charge and freezes the game. The yellow charge balls just float around infinitely. hi there, I’d really appreciate some help here. using the latest version of VisualBoyAdvance I’m able to run version Beta6F without any trouble. but patching any of the most recent versions into a clean Emerald rom causes the VBA Emulator to read Loading Battery and then nothing. doesn’t run. this is the same emulator than ran 6F of this same game. I patched it together in the same way. is my pc somehow just not strong enough for this game to work? or am I perhaps using the wrong emulator? I’m very confused.
Hi there Donut, may I know what’s your patcher? Cause the author recommends using NUPS. Regarding your Emerald rom, make sure you haven’t used it before for cheating or patching a rom hack. I doubt it if it’s your computer or emulator causing the issue. But as an alternative solution, try switching your emulator to mGBA. Feel free to let me know how this goes to you.
No clue whether this is the right place to inform the creators, but I felt that since no one else has mentioned it, I’ll mention it. There are a few misspellings in the game, with your mom saying “jorney” instead of “journey” after battling the Pikachu at the beginning, and Percy says “definately” instead of “definitely” after defeating him in Forest Pass for the first time.

So I keep getting a game freeze on Alpha Isle in the dungeon of the pokemon center on the 2nd trainer. I read that patch 8.5.1 fixes this but I thought I got it, but it still freezes up. I don’t know what to do. I’m also a little worried I’ll screw something up if I try to fix it with my ROM Patcher cause last time I corrupted my file and wasn’t able to play it anymore and had to start over. Can anyone help me with this?

Disappointed with this. After 70 hours of gameplay, I’m stuck without being able to find dragonite or Clair. I have completed everything else. Sigh.
So far I’m not impressed with this game. Definitely don’t start off with shinx. And trying to lvl other Pokemon up to just defeat the second gym is ridiculously time consuming

It seems that your emerald rom is not compatible with the ups file. If you can’t find the right emerald rom version for patching then I suggest downloading a prepatched version of this game somewhere.
go to options then emulator then save type, it should be set as flash 64k, but you need to set it as flash 128k

download glazed zip. extract in a folder. rename the folder as “glazed”. download an emerald gba rom. extract it in the folder “glazed”. download “rom patcher” applocation at playstore.. after installing, open rom patcher.
select the extracted emerald rom in “glazed” folder as rom to be patch and select the ups file from glazed as the patch. aun ok na.
