  1. The emerald code doesn’t seem to work for me even though I am playing on a V1.0 US version of the game I also have clicked [L] and [R] before throwing the pokeball at the trainers pokeball but they still block the ball I don’t know what to do at this point.

    • So im playing firered and first time using it. Its soo cool. Anyways, I pressed L + R before catching a trainers pokemon. The thing is, it will corrupt your catch and ruin your game if you dont rename it the pokemon you caught. Also, the pokedex will not record it properly. But if you rename it correctly, you will see the pokemon once you withdraw from your computer.

    • Pretty easily in my experience…

I mean, I’ve done several playthroughs of Fire Red, and by the time I’d gotten to the E4, I could almost solo them with my Charizard (wasn’t excessively “overleveled” either). Never had issues with disobedience while it was over my badge limit either…

Just train hard, and go for some high-damage moves. Stock up on Max-Restores, and various potions since you can’t get to a Center or PC until you beat the champ or lose.

Or, research the E4’s teams and have Pokémon that specifically deal extra-type damage to their specialty, and make that Pokémon the party-leader before going into their respective battles. If it doesn’t KO all their team, they’ll at least be weakened!

    • Easiest way would be to use rare candy cheat put them to lv99 and have a team of diff types like fire, flying,psychic,water/ice,lightning,fighting. Do that and it’ll be easy if your using an emulator. If your gonna use a emulator I recommend Myboy! or GBA(use I take apps one) from the play store.

    • Prepare pokemons that the elite 4 and your rival are weak against also forget to catch a Pikachu cuz your rival is weak to electric types

  2. I’m a little late to the part here, but it’s crucial you make sure to have the Fire Red version 1.0 specifically for USA (I’m from the UK and it took me a while lol) – just tested and it worked for me

    • Even after pressing L+R? In that case, I suggest not using the cheat anymore unless it’s fine for you having those bad eggs. You can move those bad eggs in the box though to get rid of them.

  3. I’ve been using this hack and I press L+R and I still get a bad egg. I’m using an emulator. The John gba emulator. It catches the Pokemon but it still gives bad egg idk what to do

    • Have you tried switching to Myboy? Myboy works well with cheats. Also, you need a V1.0 rom version for the cheat and other cheats to work.

  5. This is the only cheat I’ve been able to find that will allow it to work on my emulator, but everytime I use am able to catch the enemies pokemon they turn into bad eggs. Am i just doing it wrong or is it because of my Emulator.

    • Hi there Chuck, activating the cheat is very tricky, and results vary per rom version and the GBA emulator you are using to play the game. If this doesn’t work for you even after pressing the L+R, then most like the cheat code is not compatible with the game you have.
